Details Matter:
The vertical wood sides of a shutter panel are called "stiles". A thicker shutter stile is more resistant to warping and provides for a more rigid and sturdy shutter panel. We use only full thickness basswood stiles measuring 1 1/16" X 2" for our beaded basswood shutters and 1" X 1 " for our standard basswood shutters.
